A MEMOIR WRITING RETREAT
with Alison Wearing
October 12-18, 2025
MAKE YOUR DEPOSIT
Begin the day at the window of your bedroom drinking in a view of the Tuscan hills. Settle in with a cup of coffee or wander up to a gentle yoga class and meditation. After breakfast, make your way to the studio for an inspiring morning workshop session, and then feel free to spend the rest of the day writing, strolling the extensive grounds, reading, attending a wine tasting and/or visiting the spa. Your dinner will be authentic Tuscan cuisine paired with Fattoria del Colle’s local Brunello wines. And your evenings might be spent in the lounge, sharing some of your work with fellow writers or simply celebrating the insights and pleasures of the day.

LITERARY
NOURISHMENT
This retreat offers a balance of inspiring teachings and the plentiful space and time we need to see our writing with fresh eyes and replenish our creative wells.
Bestselling author Alison Wearing will offer focused daily teachings on the critical elements of memoir and how to employ them in our writing, as well as Q&A and small group coaching sessions. All participants will have a chance to discuss their ideas and projects with her over the course of the week.
The aim of the retreat is to provide writers with inspiration and insight, as well as the direction, focus, clarity, enthusiasm and energy they need to move forward with their writing projects. This retreat is dedicated to literary nourishment: feeding the creative spirit in an inspiring and supportive environment.
Participants are not required to submit writing in advance, as Alison will not be reading individual submissions, but rather teaching and offering direction and suggestions on people’s ideas and projects in a small group setting.
Just to clarify: if you are looking for feedback on your manuscript, this is not the retreat for you. But if you are looking to deepen your understanding of the essentials of memoir and what you need to consider when crafting your story or book; if you are looking for inspiration and direction, clarity and companionship, joy, beauty, literary nourishment and balm for the soul — this will be a good fit for you.
